For anyone with any doubt what the aromatic description "barnyard" means, this is a lesson in a glass. Stewed cherries, pot-pourri, dried hay, and a flood of sweaty leather. Made by the Californian mad wine scientist Sean Thackrey, this wine is a field blend of various grapes from various vintages grown on old vines (Syrah, Barbera, Carignan, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Sangiovese plus a dash of Viognier). Come in and try a glass of this extremely rare wine for $18 (Salt is the only place you'll find it in BC!)
